Este armadillo de tres bandas se llama Fuleco (mezcla entre Fútbol y Ecología) y fue el primer armadillo del siglo XXI. Creado por 100% Design. Fue la primera mascota en tener redes sociales.

En este mundial se consolidó el clásico mundial, el Alemania-Argentina, siendo las dos selecciones que más veces se han enfretado, no solo en la final, que fueron tres y de momento a favor de los alemanes, sino también en otras fases de la historia del torneo.
